...Snow, Ice Covered Roads For Many Tonight...Another Storm
Possible Saturday Afternoon and Night...
.At mid evening...snow was falling from around Interstate 90
northward, with a wintry mix...including freezing rain...falling
south of there. Snow accumulations so far were generally up to
1/2 inch, while a light glaze of ice has developed on some roads
and sidewalks across northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. Law
enforcement has already reported several accidents due to the
travel conditions.
The snow and wintry mix will continue into the overnight hours,
with road conditions likely becoming more slick and hazardous.
The Friday morning commute will be impacted.
2 to locally 5 inches of snow is expected along and north of a
Charles City, Iowa to Winona, Minnesota and Black River Falls,
Wisconsin line. Lesser amounts to the south, but a greater threat
for light icing.
Another storm system is taking aim on the Upper Mississippi River
Valley Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. There is the
potential for heavy snowfall.

FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet
accumulations up to 1 inch and ice accumulations up to 1/10 of
an inch are expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast Iowa into southwest Wisconsin.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM CST Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The wintry precipitation will result in
difficult travel conditions, including during the Friday
morning commute. Also, be prepared for reduced visibilities at
times.
